workshops

Whether in three hours or over the course of a few days, the best way to learn storytelling is by getting together and doing it. I've taught in universitiescorporate settings, private events, and one on one. My clients have included: PRX, The Moth, The Covenant Foundation, and Northeastern University. And I've worked with diverse populations from recently incarcerated teenagers, educators and community leaders,  to survivors of the attacks on 9/11. You can learn more about me here.

the CRAFT of personal narrative
(BASICS)

  • The basic story structure
  • Crafting your story
  • Performing your story

THE ART OF PERSONAL NARRATIVE (ADVANCED)

Designed for people who have already crafted a story, this workshop focuses on pushing your story to a deeper place. We'll play with:

  • Using structure to get more impact
  • Humor as a tool
  • "Painting the scene" (making us feel like we're there)
  • "Feel like the first time" (striving for authenticity and novelty in a story you've told a hundred times)
